The opening of the Euro Exhibition in Riga, Latvia, on 25 October 2013 will mark the launch of a campaign to inform the people of Latvia about their new currency.
The campaign will focus on the euro coins and banknotes, highlighting their security features, as well as on the key dates and details of the changeover. Over the coming months, it will include print, online and outdoor advertisements, television commercials as well as an information leaflet sent to every household.
The campaign will be launched at the Dailes Theatre by Ton Roos, Director Banknotes at the European Central Bank (ECB), and Jānis Blūms, Head of the Cash Department at Latvijas Banka (LB).
The Euro Exhibition is being held at the Dailes Theatre from 26 October 2013 to 13 December 2013. It is aimed at adults and children, and includes some interactive displays. It provides an opportunity to take a closer look at the euro: its history, the design and security features of the banknotes and an introduction to the second series of notes.
It has been organised jointly by the ECB, LB and the Dailes Theatre.
